Question : Does being scene make me emo?

Answer : No it doesn't, while many people seem to think the two are the same thing, scene is just a style which tends to usually be associated with and evolved from the third wave of emo. Now days you will find many 'preppy' females and even some jocks turning to the scene fashion styles. Much to many people's dismay.

Question : Why do so many people insult scene kids?

Answer : Probably because so many people associated it with the emo culture and there is huge hate for the emo lifestyle due to misinformation spread online, many just don't like it cause it's deemed 'cool' not to and they are trying to fall in with the crowd and me accepted. Many of the ideals being passed along in the emo culture are those opposite to that of the punk culture, and since emo evolved from punk, many punks find it an insult.

Question : Where can I buy scene clothes?

Answer : We have links under the shopping section of the site which will link you to various clothes that would be called 'scene' clothes. You will be linked to amazon.com which is a reliable buying source with a great reputation. Other places to buy include www.hottopic.com, www.interpunk.com and many others.

Question : Are tattoos part of being scene?

Answer : Well they are a part of it, but not essential.Since scene is a fashion which has been developed from evolved alternative styles in general they do find their way into the scene culture.Tattoos are often used as a form of rebellion or a way of showing something you believe in and both of which are something which have been held high in the punk movement essentially of which scene evolved (since emo was originally a form of hardcore punk music).

Question : Are piercings scene?

Answer : Yes and no. Having piercings tends to add some scene points onto your reputation but piercings used to be relatively confined to subcultures but lately there has been a massive influx in the popularity of piercings, especially eyebrow and liprings. Due to this many scene kids have even stopped piercings all together, but you will still find most scenesters do actually have piercings. Generally lip rings, stretchings, nose rings and even surface piercings are preferred.

Question : Why do so many scene kids tend towards bisexuality?

Answer : A good question, my guess is that it started off with it being a think of freedom much like within the punk movement. And sadly people picked it up as some kind of trend, calling themselves bisexual even when they really are not and thinking that kissing someone of the same sex makes you bisexual (it does not). Sadly there will always be followers who do things for attention and just to fit in, the whole sexuality thing is one that seems to be sucked in a lot. Now you have plenty of girls that think guys kissing is hot and then the guys essentially decide to do it to try get with the girls who like it and it's gone past sexuality and just to acting. Quite insulting to those who are truely bisexual or homosexual.

Question : Where do scene kids hang out?

Answer : Now days almost everywhere, it used to mainly be confined to alternative music events. Now you are likely to spot one or two scene kids just walking in the street. Since it's become somewhat mainstream lately you will probably find them anywhere you find your average teenager.
